A limited number of openings for Merit Badge Counselors and Provisional Leaders are open this year. Volunteers get the satisfaction of helping Scouts to achieve their goals and enjoy a unique experience. Merit Badge Counselors, and their assistants, provide a structured experience designed to teach the essentials of the assigned Merit Badge. The Camp is structured into four classes of 1½ hours each for four days. Class size is limited to about 20 Scouts. Counselors provide a syllabus in advance that provides enough time to cover the Merit Badge. Most Merit Badges require a small project that should be completed during the Camp. Provisional Leaders provide the troop experience essential to any Summer Camp. Provisional Leaders organize the Troops, oversee the selection of Scout Troop and Patrol Leaders, and help maintain order. The Provisional Leader Team is also responsible for pre-Camp scheduling of non-Merit Badge activities. Merit Badge Counselors and Provisional Leaders must be registered and trained adult Scouters and must provide a Medical form before the start of Camp. Scholarships are available to adults that devote the entire week to volunteering for Camp. |
